So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, at the very gates.” (Mark 13:29)

In Genesis 49:1, the Patriarch Jacob brought his people together and began to speak to each of his own, he was nearing the time of his death, and Jacob desired that the people would understand what was coming in the last days, which we are in now. “And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.”

Jacob gets to the heart of the matter in verse 25 when he states, “Even by the God of your father, who shall help you; and by the Almighty, who shall bless you with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lies under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:

Moses gave a prophetic blessing as well as a glimpse of Israel’s future when he states in Deuteronomy 33:13 “And of Joseph he said, Blessed of the LORD be his land, for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath,

In just 2 areas of a prophetic promise that had been given to Israel, the word deep indicates something that God would bless the nation of Israel with. The “deep” as it’s being mentioned in the following verses literally means beneath the earth, something that breaks out upon it, and waters it, and makes it fruitful. For centuries many had questioned exactly what that deep would mean? Did it refer to gold? Did it refer to water? What exactly were the prophets of old trying to reveal? It would take thousands of years before we would truly have a better understanding as to what Moses, along with Jacob would mean when they referred to the  deep as it relates to a great blessing God would give to the nation of Israel. What was that special meaning to the word deep? Oil. Or as what some call it – Black gold.

In November of 2002, news shocked much of the world when a Geologist found oil, not just a little bit of oil, but millions of gallons of oil, over 200 million barrels to be exact. Today, Israel stands at the threshold of becoming the most wealthiest nations on this planet, and it all goes back to the prophetic words of both Moses and Jacob. Yet it is Ezekiel the prophet who foretold that Israel’s vast wealth in the last days would be the lure God would use to bring about the final climatic battle between Israel and the Islamic nations. Notice the interesting prophetic words of Ezekiel as he shares what God reveals will occur in the last days:

After many days you will be called to arms. In future years you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and now all of them live in safety. You and all your troops and the many nations with you will go up, advancing like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land.” (Ezekiel 38:8-9)

At some point Israel will become wealthy, not that it’s not currently a wealthy nation now, actually, Israel is home to more than 6,600 millionaires for a population of only 7 million people. Today, Israel has become and economic powerhouse, one of the worlds high-tech leaders for foreign investments. Compared to other middle eastern nations such as Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan, Israel has the highest Gross Domestic Product than any other nation mentioned, $123 billion to be exact. Israel stands to be the #1 oil producer in the middle east, even bigger than Saudi Arabia. (source) (source) (source)

Yet what would cause Iran, Syria, Iraq, or even possibly Russia from coming down to invade Israel? Ezekiel gives us a clue in 38:10 -12 “‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: On that day thoughts will come into your mind and you will devise an evil scheme. You will say, “I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people–all of them living without walls and without gates and bars. I will plunder and loot and turn my hand against the resettled ruins and the people gathered from the nations, rich in livestock and goods, living at the center of the land.”

At some point in the future, the nation of Israel will surpass the wealth of its surrounding neighbors, and those neighbors are Islamic and have a vile attitude of the Jewish people, yet it will be God himself who will bring about this great impending war found in Ezekiel 38 and 39. This war will be due to bringing about the end of Islam as we know it today, and already we are seeing the beginning formation of Islamic nations fighting between themselves, from ISIS to other militant Islamists, who are attempting to build an Islamic statehood, to which President Obama is the one being used to bring it to pass. This is why in Ezekiel 38:13 the world will state, as Ezekiel already prophesied they would that ” ‘Have you come to seize spoil? Have you assembled your hosts to carry off plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to seize great spoil?”

The fact is, Israel has always been the sign of the last days. When we see Israel begin to prosper unlike anything we have ever thought possible, consider this, it is to give us a prophetic sign to the church that our time here is nearing an end, and the second coming of Christ is nearer than we thought. When Israel surpasses the world’s oil producing nations, when it’s wealth is vast and over growing because of God’s promise to Abraham, Moses and Jacob, then you’ll see the final stages being set to bring about the final climatic signs of the end of this age. It’s already happening now, we’re just catching up to its reality.

It’s too bad our president hates capitalism or we could be right there with Israel…
