If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or the wonder comes true, concerning which he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other gods (whom you have not known) and let us serve them,’ you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams; for the LORD your God is testing you to find out if you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul You shall follow the LORD your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him. “But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has counseled rebellion against the LORD your God who brought you from the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery, to seduce you from the way in which the LORD your God commanded you to walk. So you shall purge the evil from among you.” (Deuteronomy 13:1-5)

Blood moons, Super Blood moons, Tetrads, Shemitah’s, and of course – harbingers, have all become the popular talk among Christians in these current days in which we live. Yet surprisingly still, it reveals something more than a mere interest in these so called “prophetic events”, it signals how far the modern church has drifted away from sound biblical teaching, and instead, has embraced mysticism instead of the bible and true prophetic voices.

Since the release of Jonathan Cahn’s book ‘The Harbinger’, followed up by the books by John Hagee, John Shorey and Mark Biltz, the church world has found itself plagued and hypnotized by star trek prophecy preachers who are so far out into outer space that not even I can lock a radar on them. The fact is, they are running on prophetic utterances and shallow prophecies that, if taken into question, lacks serious scriptural weight. Yet now, with all the church foaming at the mouth to devour yet another “prophecy” by hit-and-run prophets, the word of God is left sitting on the desk while mythical conjecture masked as “prophecy” is embraced, the result? Seduction by another spirit.

I won’t begin to go through the entire problems with each of these individuals I have mentioned in the above paragraph, instead, I want to focus directly on what the Lord dropped into my spirit recently. At the time of this article it is now September 19th, 2015. To many, that date might not gain an interest, but to thousands upon thousands it was supposed to hold significant weight because as Cahn, Jim Bakker and other so called “prophets” have eluded to, September 13th was the end of the Shemitah and the elud 29, which was supposed to bring about the end of the economic world, WW3, and the rise of the antichrist, not to mention the rapture was supposed to occur, followed by a large earthquake. Yet none of these things have happened (or are going to right now). Instead, it once again proves why God takes prophecies very serious, and especially those which are spoken in his name.

When a prophet (under the law) spoke falsely, God had a remedy to deal with such – death. Some would argue that killing (by stoning) was a harsh judgment to pronounce simply because someone might have “missed it”, but one must truly understand the entire aspect of the role of the prophet under the old covenant. To walk and speak as a prophet was not an easy task, nor a popular one, many times true, genuine prophets of old were killed, boiled alive in hot oil, cut in two, and stoned to death, not for being false, but for being true. To speak for God in the time of Israel was not only full of great responsibility, the very words of a prophet held such a high weight among the people, that a false word could literally destroy an entire nation, or render it helpless to its many enemies, it could even lead people into false worship of idols, such was the weight of a prophets words and why God demanded that if someone claimed to be sent by God and spoke with a clear word, and it did not come to pass, that man had to be removed from the people and killed, to protect the nation itself from falling into great apostasy.

Unlike the past, there are no more judgments as to dealing with prophets whose words fail to come to pass, instead, we mark them as false, or sometimes immature, and leave them be, unless true repentance takes place where God can, if they were truly called into the role of a prophet, can mature them over a period of time so that they can then speak the word of God with surety and not by speculation. The fact is, it matters if a prophets words come to pass or not.

When a prophets words come to pass, and that man (or woman) has a proven ministry of leading people to the cross, then God is glorified, the people are edified and the prophetic office is respected. But when a prophets word does not come to pass, not only is the prophet tainted, God is also equally placed into doubt because the word claimed to be from God did not materialize, thus leaving people room for doubt for all other acts and wisdom of God. Such is why a prophets word is not only important, but why it matters.

Today, unlike Israel’s day, there are no longer any accountability toward those who would speak falsely of claiming to hear from God and say on a certain day such and such is going to occur, and when that claim comes and goes, then the people are left wondering what happened? Why the word never came to pass, and more importantly, it puts the legitimate office of the prophet into serious doubt. Such is why these men should be labeled as false, not simply because of their words failing to come to pass, but because they have also preached another gospel. This is the warning God’s word reminds us of when examining the words of a prophet, not just in their prophecies, but in their teachings as well. If Christ and the cross is not pointed out to the world and the church, then something is amiss. If they seek to gain financially from their prophecies, then something equally is amiss. God’s word never comes with a price tag, it will always be free. Yet it matters when a prophets word fails to come to pass as we have recently seen, and that failure is what is helping the enemy of our soul in his attempt to desensitize the church in these last days so that when a true, genuine false antichrist spirit emerges among the land, leading millions astray, then those who never questioned the words of such a man as being true or not, will lead them into complete seduction, thereby fulfilling the words of Paul, “For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.” (2 Timothy 4:3)

It matters if a prophets word comes to pass or not, because God warns us that in the last days, seducing spirits and angels of light would infiltrate the church, leading many astray, and when we fail to examine and hold those men and women who claim to speak for God and miss the mark entirely, then the church suffers greatly. This is no time for allowing false wolves among us, but instead, we must begin to mark those who claim one thing and speak another, that is the mark of a true Christian testing all things, for it will save them from eternal damnation.

I’ve been reading your articles and prophetic words the last few weeks. I am not posting this to criticize but for you to clarify.

On July 2015, you posted the following: Last night while in prayer, the Lord began to speak to my spirit of what I believe is coming this fall. Here is that word:

“In the fall I shall move against the nation of plenty. I shall shake the land, what can be shaken will be shaken, for the people are in rebellion and turned against my ways. So I shall turn them over to another spirit and it shall devour them.”

I cannot say what is coming, but in my spirit I fear for this nation and what we have done. Let God be true and every man a liar.

Then on August 2015, you posted this in reply to others’ comments:

I know this much, September will be a nice fall month, the leaves will start to turn, and apple cider will be as abundant as it was last year.

Relating to Jonathan Cahn and others who have made predictions relating to the end of September which is Fall, you have labeled them as false prophets and yet you have given a prophecy relating to judgement of some sort coming this fall. A few months later you assured your followers that September will be a nice fall month and the apple cider will be as abundant as last year.

    Please clarify your statements.

    Charles Kane

    • Point taken. Let me explain, I stand by what I stated and it goes back to Jeremiah contending against Hananiah. Hananiah stated a half truth, Jeremiah stated a full truth. While I do not believe September is going to be “the season” I see October (fall) as being when things will change. Genuine prophecy versus the counterfeit.

    • By the way, let me equally add, Cahn states several times that either September or October “something” is going to happen, well, which is it? Is it September or October? He’s confused. But then again, he never claims to be a prophet, nor does he even advocate the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, in other words, he’s a wolf whose real intention is to manipulate the body into a falsehood by way of going back to law.

      • Berta says:

Cahn has said repeatedly that God is God and He can do whatever He wants. Cahn’s point is that the shemitah is over in Sept and the past 14 years have shown that financial disaster has come on the shemitah. I personally do not take the Jewish calendar into the New Testament–except I still am looking for the fulfillment of the Feast of Tabernacles.

Furthermore, when Cahn says “September or October” that is fully within the flow of the prophetic to do so. Sometimes when sharing what God has spoken to us we are trying to communicate in our language what God spoke in His. God uses pictures, dreams, visions, voices, etc to speak to humans. When we try to communicate His message there can be things said such as, “It was like this,” “I sensed this,” “I sensed it was Sept or Oct.” We prophesy in part because we know in part.

Nothing has happened thus far. There was a huge earthquake in Chili and the stock market is roller coastering, but it does that every autumn. We are all supposed to hear the Holy Spirit and be prophetic; not all prophets, but all prophetic. John 16:13 “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” That is for all believers.

      • Uh, there is always an earthquake in Chili because it sits on the fire rim. To even use the Hebrew calendar to justify the Shemiter is bogus, because there is 250 years which most scholars do not agree on.

Cahn also says maybe nothing will happen!

  3. Tammy says:

Cahn did not elude to the rapture nor the ww3 he simply said economic collapse. The other men you mention i never listened to nor heard they said such things.

i personally showed a passing interest in what Cahn said due to the fact that he had predicted the 2008 collapse and said the 17th when indeed it happened the 16th of September 2008. I do not believe in coincidence.

I agree on the fact that doubt could be placed on God, but someone who is built upon the rock of Jesus Christ will not have such a small thing shake their faith in anyway shape or form. I know it was man’s mistake and definitely not God who made the mistake.

Jonathan Cahn preaches the cross and Christ crucified! I do not believe for one moment that Jonathan Cahn meant to deliberately set out to harm people and or their faith, and truly he has said it could happen he believes it will happen, but it might not it is all in God’s timing.

Blessings to you dear sir keep up the good work.

  4. Henry kim says:

Do not touch anointed ones or do not harm his prophrts. Do not judge prophets 9th God unless he be judged

    • Tammy says:

sorry Henry but that does not wash at all there are wonderful pastors out there who speak truth about the fact that touch not the anointed is a bunch of hogwash for the NT body of Christ.

We are supposed to expose false preachers and teachers and God knows there are more than enough who claim to be anointed then show without a doubt they are not anointed.

    • ajc says:

talking about Israel but used by so many wolves to make people afraid to question them ajc Israel was the anointed ones read your bible

  5. Charles Kane says:

I wasn’t attempting to defend Jonathan Cahn or anybody making predictions or prophesying about upcoming events. I actually haven’t read his books or any of the best selling books about end time events. Why? Because to me they are distractions from the Lord wants my focus to be. Even though my natural mind wants to know the latest thing that’s going on, these things have proven to be more hindering than helpful in me becoming everything that God has called me to be in Christ. That may not be applicable to everyone but it certainly has been for me.

The writer of Hebrews exhorts us: Let us lay aside every weight (distraction, hindrance, encumbrance) and the sin that so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross. (Hebrews 12:1,2).

Anything that causes us to lose our focus on the cross of Christ and the work that He has begun and is faithful to bring to completion should be put in its proper place or shunned completely. You’ve heard the expression, Good is the enemy of the Best. This is applicable in our walk with the Lord. Even things that are good or appear good (to our natural minds) can be the biggest hindrances in Christ completing His work of conforming us to His image

This website has many excellent articles on the various deceptive influences affecting the the church today, but everything has to be in proper perspective or else we find ourselves majoring in other stuff and minoring in Christ, the author and finisher of our faith.

  8. clinton alexander says:

those people are wolfs in sheeps clothing when september is come and gone and nothing happens there gonna look foolish anyway I go by the Word and it says no man no not even angels knows the hour only the father, when will Gods people learn to go by the Word of God not these false prophets wolfs in sheeps clothing

  9. clinton alexander says:

for the truth >>> on that website u will get the truth from the Swaggarts

  10. Judy says:

I am somewhat troubled by your condemnation of others. It seems to me not too many years ago that you were sharing dreams of a “shaking” of the nation that would take place in the summer or fall. An earthquake of great proportion that would effect 8 Midwest states and bring about economic collapse.

I feel your words condem yourself.

    • clinton alexander says:

Judy christopher dont condem no one we just will not let anyone put us under works and law when the truth is the only way to be saved and stay saved is thru Jesus Christ and Him Crucuified

    • Judy: I never claimed a date. Agabus the prophet in the book of Acts spoke of a coming famine and warned the church likewise, it took place 10 years later. See my point? And I stand by my words. The men I mentioned are advocating the law, aspects of the law which have been done away with, and if you listen to that foolishness then you will fall for anything.

      • Clinton says:

        Amen Brother Christopher

      • clinton alexander says:

all the talk about events that were suppose to happen in september last month did not happen, nothing happended so that is proof the ones that were saying that according Shemitah and blood moons that castrophic events were gonna happen in september those people are false prophets wolfs in sheeps clothing, the Bible is clear if a person claims to be a prophet but what they predict does not happen when they say it is suppose they are not from God but false, so nothing happended last month so u are false and u only do it to sell ur books tapes etc to make money and fleece the people of God, let me say this the Bible does say perilous times shall come in the last days and they will happen but on God time schedule not ours not on someones books tapes etc, so u have been proven to be false

  11. clinton alexander says:

i think Christopher meant this coming fall later this year, also only the Blood of Jesus is sufficient

    • Judy says:

With all due respect Clinton, he spoke that “prophecy” several years ago.

      • clinton alexander says:

ok i was not following him then, so what you saying about christopher

      • Clinton, they are people who are caught up in the Hebraic roots movement, they are deceived and we must pray their eyes get opened.

      • Clinton says:

I agree Christopher, they think doing works and keeping the law will save them and keep them saved I agree there decieved and there spiritual eyes must be opened thru prayer , I believe ur a man of God that preaches and teaches the truth Brother Christopher

      • Clinton says:

Truth is only Jesus and His shed blood and what Jesus did at the Cross saves us and keeps us saved, Jesus fullfilled all the law so we dont have to keep the law anymore period, those that are in hebewic movement are decieved

  12. clinton alexander says:

im not talking about brother christopher cuz I believe what brother christopher teaches is the truth I believe he is a man of God, im talking about the ones in hebrewic movement spreading the false doctrime and other false prophets you look bad now since what you said would happen in september last month did not happen last month, my question to you did u realy hear from God as u think u did I think not
